This interesting and elegant Cerambycid species has been introduced to Europe (northern Adriatic) from North America in the last century and is spreading now.

 

Body length: 7 - 15 mm
Life cycle: 1 - 2 years
Adults in: April - August
Host plant: polyphagous on a broad variety of deciduous trees
Distribution: Italy, South France, Croatia, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary


The depicted beetles were reared from larvae found in a dead trunk of lotusberry (Celtis australis). The trunk was collected in Šušnjevica (15 km east of Pazin, Istra peninsula, Croatia).
